These June 1976 shows that Charlie has made recently available have the best sound I have heard in ages. Crisp and clear, no ratty hiss, just excellent sources like I turned on my radio and there they were playing live like in the day - shit I need a tour and DSO, or Further, or Phish or Wide Spread Panic just aint doin it... I'd even trade Obama for Ford and being 14 again if i could only go back in time...

I happen to agree with you about the "June 1976 shows that Charlie has made recently available" especially the soundboard for 6/28/76, which was previously only available as a shitty audience recording.

However, if you had actually bothered to check the link that Kochman provided above before commenting, you would see that there is absolutely nothing new about this transfer. It's been available since October 2008.

Kochman doesn't even like the Grateful Dead's music from June 1976. And if he actually knew anything about '76, gave a shit about it and actually attempted to make a contribution, instead of merely just trying to take up space here, he might have instead provided a link to Charlies new transfer of an audience recording made by a GD crew member of this show that was uploaded here only a week or so ago...

I love these shows. June '76 Grateful Dead has always had a special place in my heart and mind. And that's only from the tapes. As far as time travel, well.. I just close my eyes, open my ears and forget all other distractions and I'm there. The playing and the drip-drop sound are so continual. They are so loose and tight at the same time as a band. 6/26 is definitely one to enjoy time and time again.

I'm with you -- if I had a time machine, summer tour '76 would definitely be on the itinerary.
